In the heart of Canungra, St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church was officially opened in 1934 by Archbishop Duhig. Before the church was built, Mass was actually held within the private homes of residents and then the School of Arts once the congregation became too big.
Located on the corner of Kidston Street and King Street, it’s just down the road from our hotel.
Additional Options for church nuptials in the area include the Canungra Uniting Church – which is a congregation for the Uniting Church of Australia; or St. Luke’s – which is the Anglican Church in Canungra also located on Kidston Street, and has been welcoming the congregation in town since 1936.
This small historical church was built in 1858 and was moved to O’Reilly’s in 1951. It is located on the grounds of O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat on Lamington National Park Road, and a popular choice for couples looking to tie the knot surrounded by natural beauty.
