On the second Sunday of each month (their Facebook or Instagram page will keep you updated), locals and visitors alike can head to Moriarty Park for the Canungra Village Markets. Founded all the way back in May 2013, the markets were established by a community of local producers as somewhere to showcase their talents, and treats, for the region. There is a long line up of stalls with homemade and handmade goods so it’s well worth a visit if you’re in the area when they are on.
It’s both a family friendly and pet friendly morning each month where visitors look forward to exploring local wares, introduce themselves to the locals who fill this large outdoor market, as well and meet the growers, farmers and cooks all whilst supporting local.
If you’re one that enjoys a local community market but are in the region on a weekend other than when the Canungra Village Markets take place, fear not! The area actually spreads them out over the month so as to not compete with each other so, if you’re up for a drive, the following is the schedule of markets that take place around the region:
- Beaudesert Markets - 1st Saturday each month
- Tamborine Village Lions Community Markets - 1st Sunday each month
- Canungra Village Markets - 2nd Sunday each month
- Beechmont Country Markets - 3rd Sunday each month
- Boonah Country Markets - 4th Sunday each month
The Canungra Village Markets run every second Sunday from 8am – 1pm, and are located at Moriarty Park on Monarch Drive, which is only a five minute car ride or 10 minute walk from Canungra Hotel.
